The Fogcatcher

Here is a brief overview of how much water a single module can produce and what configuration makes sense. The location for the fog catcher must be a foggy region, for example, in the mountains or near a sea.

The built-in textile can separate 10 L/(d*m²) of water from the air enriched with mist. Drainage channels are used to collect the water in a water tank, which can be placed underground or above ground. In the picture you can see two modules that form one unit. One unit has a textile area of 6 m², on average this means that one unit can collect 60 l of water per day. It depends on the application how many units are required, but we recommend to start at least with 5 units to justify the work for the installation.

  • Textile separation rate: 10 L/(d*m²) for relative humidity > 100%
  • Texile area of one unit: 6 m²
  • Unit dimension: 4.5 m / 2 m / 0.5 m [ height / wide / deep]
